Tina Giorgadze

Tina Giorgadze is a PhD candidate in the Department of Statistics at Columbia University, mentored by Simon Tavaré at the Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics. Her current research focuses on statistical methods for inferring copy number variation from sequencing data. Previously, her research developed agent-based models to explore tumor heterogeneity and the dynamics of immunotherapy response.

Tina earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bard College and an M.A. in Statistics from Columbia University. She was named Kenneth Bush ’36 Memorial Scholar in Mathematics, received the Serota Award for Computer Science, and was honored with the Distinguished Scientist Scholarship at Bard College.
